Though it is a bronze medal but it means a lot for Indian Spikers who have
finished third in the recently concluded Asia Cup Volleyball competition at
Uruomieh in Iran. It is a welcome return to podium for after 24 years in any
Asian level competition. India last time won a bronze medal in 1986 at Seoul
Asian Games.
The Asia Cup was held at Ghadir Arena, Uruomieh in Iran from August 1 to
7,
2010 and top eight teams were invited to play. India was not first selected for
the competition but when Indonesia withdrew, India was given a chance. |
